Seven is… Pokémon and comic books.
… first grade and missing teeth.
… best friends and “worst favorite” foods.
… shaggy hair and skinny arms.
… teddy bears and video games.
… drawing comics and reading books.
… knock-knock jokes and potty humor.
… buffalo wings and mint chocolate chip ice cream.
… fighting some and laughing more with your little brother.
… Mom’s baby and Dad’s buddy.
… smart. Sensitive. Persuasive. Creative. Goofy. Loving. Mine.
Happy Birthday, Miles! You light up my life. I love you more than any 7-year-old in the whole wide world.
Love, Mom
LAUGH O’ THE DAY: For his class yearbook, Miles had to fill out a questionnaire about himself. Asked what makes him unique, he wrote, “I can read minds.”
“Oh, yeah?” I asked him. “Then what am I thinking right now?”
“Mo-o-om. That’s not how it works.” Oh.

God I miss being 7. I mean, most of the stuff on your list I do now but it was so much more accepted when I was 7 than it is now.
I knew you’d be able to relate to the comic book part. 🙂 I really hope he never outgrows some of these qualities and interests.
So, how DOES it work?
I love that photo of Miles holding the sparkler. Makes me melt a little.
