Last week I saw this and Instagrammed it:
9:30am on a Tuesday: I want their life.
Then I realized: I DO have their life. I mean, I don’t have a kayak, and if I did I’m not sure I’d have time to go for a paddle before preschool pickup, and I certainly wouldn’t attempt to take both boys with me, because that defeats the whole peaceful purpose of kayaking, but THEORETICALLY, I have their life.
Because to me this picture represents freedom… time… choice… flexibility. And those are all things I DO have as a work-at-home freelance writer mom. On a good day.
TIP O’ THE DAY: Hey, did you know you can subscribe by email to my blog? It’s true! And some people still don’t know! You don’t have to keep coming here to see if I posted something new. (Which is SUPPOSED to be on a M-W-F schedule…) You don’t have to wait (and wait and wait…) until I update my Facebook page. You can sign up here and you’ll get an email every! single! time! I write a new post. I knew you’d be excited. 🙂

Ha! I’m so excited. But then again, I never ever miss your posts. That is a hysterical photo. I mean, it’s so freakin’ big. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kayak on top of a car. And you know, I just had a thought, like two seconds ago, as I was responding to a comment on my blog. It’s so cliche to say it’s all about perspective, but really, it is. Stories come from living life. We think we don’t have time… but while we’re running around and living life, THAT’s how we generate material. If I go through my days always mindful of “is there a story here?” — it would make a radical difference in my overall perspective.
That’s way the bessett answer so far!

i get that feeling too; i'm forever broke so i'm on a perpetual 'cleansing' of my wardrobe & that alone makes me feel overwhelmed so i can just understand how it's like for you who hasn't cleared out yours in a long time. but that 'relieved & cleansed out' feeling does indeed come at the very end so persevere on! 🙂
