My dad and I took the boys to the beach the other day during our visit to my parents’. You’ve never seen such unbridled enthusiasm for surf and sand. They literally drank it in. “Salty!” pronounced Riley, before diving headfirst into the waves again. Miles insisted I bury him up to his neck in sand. I put some of the pictures on Facebook, including this one of Miles holding a sand crab:
My childhood friend L. replied, “I have a photo like that of you as a kid!” In a few minutes it arrived in my inbox. Same pose. Same beach. Same family. Thirty years apart but almost exactly the same. Life is crazy.
